    What a great experience. I needed to sell some jewelry and gold. This business is run by three great brothers and a dad. Personable and professional all. I had taken the gold coin to another place a few days before and Barry’s offered a bit more and considering gold went down in the three days it was a good price. Selling gold at Barry's

Bring your gold and a photo ID to our Boca Raton counter. We test the karat and weigh it at our counter, then make you an offer the same visit. If you accept, smaller sales are paid in cash and larger ones by check or wire transfer. If you don't, you take your gold home. There's no obligation.

Before you sell anywhere

Wherever you sell gold, ask what the karat and weight of each piece are. If a piece is signed by a designer, ask whether it's being valued as jewelry or only by its weight. And ask what a pawn loan would be, in case you'd rather keep it.

Rather keep it? Ask about a pawn loan

We can usually offer more to buy your gold than to lend on it, because you're selling it outright. If you'd like the gold piece back later, a pawn loan gives you money the same visit with no credit check, and you pick it up when you repay. Ask for both numbers at the counter and choose what suits you.

How do you test gold to determine if it's real?

At Barry's, we test gold with an XRF machine, which analyzes the metal without damaging it, backed by experience with thousands of pieces of gold since 1987.

Depending on the piece, we may also use specific gravity or other methods.

We occasionally use acid testing, but try not to unless it's absolutely necessary.

How do you determine how much to offer for gold?

When someone brings us gold, we evaluate what they have based on its purity, weight, and the current gold market.

We then make an offer based on our assessment of the items.

There's never any pressure or obligation to accept our offer.

Do you buy broken or mismatched jewelry?

Yes, Barry's buys broken jewelry, mismatched earrings and even small pieces of scrap jewelry.

Even tiny pieces can add up quickly, especially with today's gold prices, so it's often worth having us take a look.

Do I need an appointment to sell?

No. Walk in Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM or Sunday 12:00 to 4:30 PM. We're closed Saturday.

Do I have to accept the offer?

No. We make you an offer the same visit, and you decide. If you'd rather keep your gold, you can take it home or ask about a pawn loan instead.

Do you pay cash when I sell?

For smaller sales, yes: you're paid in cash. Larger sales are paid to you by check or wire transfer.

Can I get a quote before I come in?

Yes. Send photos through the quote form, or text them to (561) 786-2431, and we'll get back to you. The final offer is made in the store once we see the piece.

Would I get more if I sell instead of pawn?

Usually, yes. Selling pays the full value; a pawn loan lets you keep ownership. We'll give you both numbers so you can choose.

Is Barry's open on weekends?

Barry's is open Sunday from 12:00 to 4:30 PM and closed on Saturday. Weekday hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
